Around 8 mln t of grain storage capacity destroyed by russians in Ukraine since war broke

Around 8 million tonnes of elevator capacity was lost in Ukraine as of the end of June 2023 as a result of the occupation, shelling and flooding, Elevatorist com research shows.

Of the pre-war grain storage capacity of 57 million tonnes, 44 million tonnes remain operational.

Regions that suffered the largest damage to grain storage infrastructure:

  • Mykolaiv — 1 832,5 mln t of grain storage capacity lost
  • Zaporizhzhia — 1 828,7 mln t
  • Kherson — 1 686,5 mln t
