Crop 2023: producers in Ukraine harvested first million tons of grain

Agricultural producers in 12 regions of Ukraine have started early grains harvesting, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports. As of July 6, the new crop grain was collected on 308.2 thou. ha, 3% of the projected area in 2023.

The average yield of crops is 3.23 t/ha. Farms have harvested 1.024 million tons of grain, including:

  • barley: 805.8 thou. t on 235 thou. ha (16%), the avg. yield 3.43 t/ha
  • wheat: 172 thou. t on 51.4 thou. ha (1%), 3.35 t/ha
  • peas: 45.8 thou. t on 21.7 thou. ha (15%), 2.11 t/ha

Producers in Mykolaiv region harvested 118 thou. ha, which is 19% of the region's planted area. 468.8 thou. t of new crop grain was collected on the reporting date in Odesa region.

5 regions have launched the winter rapeseed campaign — 86.2 thou. tons has been harvested on 47.7 thou. ha (3%), using the average yield of 1.81 t/ha.
