Grain export 2023/24: wheat supply twice as high as last season's
Staple grains export shipment from Ukraine since the start of the 2023/24(1 July 2023-30 June 2024) season has come to 3.12 mln t. As reported by the Agrarian Ministry, commodities shipment as of August 14 surged by 472 thou. t, 18% up YoY.

In its August report, USDA projects wheat export from Ukraine at 10.5 mln t in the 2023/24 season (2022/23 est.: 16.8 mln t). Corn shipment is forecast to fall to 19.5 mln t (2022/23 est.: 28 mln t).
Since the grain deal expired on July 17, Ukraine is unable to export agricultural commodities from the ports of Big Odesa while russia threatens to attack merchant ships.
Two days after the deal expired, on July 19, russia launched a missile attack on the port of Chornomorsk. Vegetable oil and grain terminals were severely damaged. Kernel was one of the companies that reported the destruction of port infrastructure.
Currently, the ports on the Danube — Reni, Izmail and Kilia — are shipping agricultural commodities and fertilizers.
