Crop 2023: sugar beet and corn campaigns start in Ukraine

Early grains and legumes harvest in Ukraine was completed on 6.7 mln ha as of September 7, 61% of the total planted in 2023. The crops yield 4.38 t/ha on average, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.

Farms have harvested 33.77 million tons of new crop, including:

  • wheat: 22.15 mln t on 4.67 mln ha (101%), the avg. yield 4.72 t/ha
  • barley: 5.82 mln t on 1.5 mln ha (101%), 3.87 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 3.99 mln t on 1.39 mln ha (98%), 2.87 t/ha
  • peas: 386.5 thou. t on 154.4 thou. ha (103%), 2.5 t/ha
  • soybean: 154.1 thou. t on 60 thou. ha (3%), 2.57 t/ha
  • sugar beet: 116 thou. t on 2.6 thou. ha (1%), 44.96 t/ha
  • sunflower: 199.3 thou. t on 107.4 thou. ha (2%), 1.86 t/ha

Farmers in 19 regions of Ukraine have completed harvesting rapeseed.

Producers in eighteen regions are collecting buckwheat — the average yield indicators are around 1.42 t/ha.

Peas harvesting has been finalized in 19 regions.

Farms in Dnipropetrovsk region have started collecting corn. The first average yield indicators are at 3 t/ha.
