MHP to launch edible fat production line

In 2024, MHP plans to launch a line for the production of edible fat. Maksym Guzev, MHP's expert on exports and development of new markets for processed food products, told Latifundist.com in an interview.
"Before that, we used chicken fat only for feed and industrial purposes. Edible fat is a product for the confectionery and bakery industries. It is the highest purity fat. It looks somewhat similar to unrefined sunflower oil," said Guzev.
The agricultural holding has a standalone line for the production of mechanically deboned meat. It has a separate production line for edible fat, which extracts chicken fat using a press. According to Guzev, it is very clean, fresh and of premium quality.
"By the way, the feed industry also buys this fat for premium lines. That is, we have feed fat that is used for pet food or feed production. But at the same time, there are feed companies that need a cleaner and better quality fat of the highest grade and are willing to pay an additional premium for quality," Guzev added.
