Continental Farmers Group establishes trading company in Geneva

Continental Farmers Group has extended its business activities and started a trading company, Continental Trading. It was established in Geneva, Switzerland, the company says in a statement.

The company has already achieved stable monthly volumes of 150-200 thousand tons, and in the future, it plans to reach 5-7 million tons annually.

Georg von Nolcken

CEO of Continental

“The launch of trading is a strategic decision that logically complements the Company's core business and allows us to effectively use our existing resources: elevator capacities, a fleet of railway wagons and a developed logistics system. Our trading model differs from the classical approach based solely on buying and selling. We control the entire supply chain — from storage and transportation to sales on international markets. This synergy between production and trading ensures flexibility and high efficiency in working with partners.”

The company's trading activities are targeted at wheat, barley, soybeans, corn and rapeseed. Continental started with exports of Ukrainian origins and is developing purchases from other countries, expanding its global market presence.

Continental Trading does business with a wide range of partners, from small farms to large agricultural producers, and also cooperates with international traders and processors. Continental's primary focus is the sale of grain to end customers in ports.

As for suppliers, Continental's customers include both large agricultural producers who sell grain directly at the port and small farms with limited logistics capabilities. For them, the company offers flexible solutions as part of its sourcing programme: farmers can sell their products through Continental's elevators or directly from their farms. The company is ready to adapt to the needs of each supplier, the message reads.
