Ukraine harvests nearly 200,000 t of early grains — agriculture minister

As of June 27, Ukrainian farmers have harvested over 188,000 tons of new crop grain from more than 74,000 hectares of early grain and leguminous crops, Agriculture Minister Vitalii Koval reported.

The rapeseed harvest has also begun.

By crop type, farmers have collected:

• Barley: over 151,000 tons from 55,000 ha

• Wheat: 22,000 tons from over 10,000 ha

• Peas: over 14,000 tons from 8,400 ha

In Odesa region alone, farmers have already harvested more than 132,000 tons of grain from 45,000 ha. Harvesting has also started in Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions:

• Mykolaiv: 19,000 ha harvested, 43,700 tons collected

• Dnipropetrovsk: 3,800 ha harvested, 8,300 tons collected

Average yields so far are:

• Wheat: 2.24 t/ha

• Barley: 2.74 t/ha

• Rapeseed: 1.02 t/ha
