MHP to lease sausage producer Myasovita for 8 years to replace lost assets in Donetsk region

Ukrainian food and agri group MHP has decided to lease, rather than purchase, the facilities of Berdychiv-based sausage producer Myasovita for a period of eight years, Forbes Ukraine reports.

At the end of June, MHP submitted a request for approval to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to lease two companies — Myasovita and Inco-Food Ukraine. Both entities are owned by the Polish company Friedman Sp.z o.o. through businesswoman Nina Stempen. Friedman was registered in Poland only in June 2025.

The choice to lease instead of acquire is likely due to complications in valuing the business amid the war. Over €20 million has been invested in Myasovita, and its owners are reportedly unwilling to sell at a “war discount,” Forbes notes.

Since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion, MHP has lost its primary meat and sausage processing facility under the Bashchynskyi brand in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region — the group’s key asset in that segment. MHP has not commented on the details of the lease deal, stating only that they will do so once the agreement is finalized.

In 2022, MHP began looking for ways to return to the sausage market and reached a contract manufacturing agreement with Myasovita, which started producing MHP-branded products using MHP's raw materials.

“MHP and Myasovita have found an optimal model for both sides,” a market source told Forbes.
