Odesa Port Plant restoring warehouses, preparing to resume grain transshipment — director
Odesa Portside Plant (OPP) is working to restore its storage facilities, acting CEO Yurii Kovalskyi told Latifundist.com at the Large Farm Management conference in Kyiv.
“We are currently restoring the warehouses to return to the transshipment market. Everything will be restored by the end of the year,” he said.
According to him, once the work is completed, the plant plans to handle at least 60,000–80,000 tons of grain per month.
Commenting on OPP’s preparation for privatization, Kovalskyi emphasized that the key task for management now is to preserve the asset’s functionality and workforce until its transfer to a new owner.
“The plant is in working condition; it could be relaunched within 2–3 months without major capital investment,” the director noted.
At the end of June 2025, during a Russian drone and missile attack on Odesa region’s port infrastructure, OPP’s transshipment complex was hit, forcing it to halt grain handling operations.
