Ukraine launches concession process for Chornomorsk port by forming tender commission
On Wednesday, September 3, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba signed an order establishing a tender commission for the concession of Chornomorsk port, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced.
“Ukraine is launching its first public-private partnership in the port sector since the start of the full-scale invasion. Yesterday in Odesa, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba signed the order to set up the tender commission. The next steps include preparing documentation, announcing an international tender, and selecting a winner. The project covers the port’s First and Container Terminals,” she said.
According to Svyrydenko, “over 40 leading international port operators and investors have already expressed readiness to participate” in the concession of Chornomorsk port.
“This could become the largest investment in the history of Ukrainian ports — hundreds of millions of dollars for modernization and more than $1.1 billion in budget revenues over 40 years,” Svyrydenko added.
