Growers in Ukraine harvest nearly 2.5 mln t of sunflower, average yield below 2 t/ha

As of September 18, Ukrainian farmers have harvested 29.7 million tons of new grain, covering 62% of the sown area, according to the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

Breakdown by crop:

• wheat: 22.4 mln t (98% harvested), yield 4.48 t/ha

• barley: 5.3 mln t (98%), yield 3.96 t/ha

• peas: 626.6 kt (97%), yield 2.36 t/ha

• corn: 388.7 kt (2%), yield 4.31 t/ha

• soybeans: 944.9 kt (22%), yield 1.95 t/ha

• sunflower: 2.4 mln t (26.7%), yield 1.76 t/ha

• sugar beets: 632.5 kt (6%), yield 50 t/ha
