On October 27, the AgroExpedition 2025. Elevators kicks off — the first large-scale tour of Ukrainian grain elevators since 2019. The Elevatorist.com team will embark on a five-day trip to show the real state of the sector — both its achievements and the systemic challenges elevators face during wartime.

From October 27 to 31, the expedition will visit elevators in various Ukrainian regions that have seen major changes in grain storage and logistics in recent years, as well as those in central regions where most facilities are concentrated.

Key topics of the tour include:

  • profitability of the elevator business and pricing methods for storage services;
  • technical condition, modernization needs, and energy efficiency (alternative energy, automation, generators, solar plants);
  • grain quality indicators for the 2025/2026 season;
  • grain trading and interaction with buyers;
  • staffing challenges and examples of automation that minimize human involvement;
  • export-related bottlenecks and barriers.

The team plans to visit at least 10 facilities — about two elevators per day.

Partners of AgroExpedition 2025 include KMZ Industries, Crédit Agricole Bank, and Sojam.

KMZ Industries describes the current season as “pragmatic”, with many farms postponing large-scale modernization or construction projects until more stable times.

“Instead, companies are focusing on targeted upgrades of key systems to reduce fuel costs and increase energy efficiency while maintaining grain quality,” said Oleksandr Nebeskyi, Commercial Director at KMZ Industries.

He added that demand for Ukrainian-made equipment remains strong thanks to competitive pricing, reliability, proximity to customers, and fast service support.

“From AgroExpedition, we expect live professional exchange — a chance to compare how elevators operate in different regions and segments, the challenges they face, and how we can be of further help,” Nebeskyi noted.

“The Elevator AgroExpedition is an opportunity to assess the state of grain infrastructure, share experience in adapting to new challenges, and offer effective financing solutions for investment projects. For the Crédit Agricole team, maintaining direct contact with agricultural producers is crucial,” said Ihor Hurzhiy, Head of Agriexpertise at Crédit Agricole Bank.

At Sojam, representatives say this season has been difficult, with harvest delays due to weather conditions. During the expedition, they aim to demonstrate how Sojam’s technology performs directly at elevators — under real storage conditions.

“We hope to find positive cases showing how companies remain efficient even in tough conditions, and to provide recommendations on our technology for farmers, banks, and elevator equipment suppliers,” said Maksym Novakov, Sojam Ukraine representative for the Eastern region.

The Elevatorist.com team invites everyone interested to join the expedition — to shoot videos from the elevators and tag the outlet on social media.
