Winter crops planted on 90% of projected area in Ukraine

As of November 4, growers in Ukraine planted 5.9 million hectares of winter crops, which represents 90% of the planned area, the Ministry of Economy reported.

The largest share of the area is planted with winter wheat — 4.3 million hectares, followed by winter barley — 478.7 thousand hectares, and winter rye — 65.9 thousand hectares.

Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions lead in the total sown area for winter grains. The sowing campaign for cereals has already been completed in Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava, Rivne, and Chernihiv regions.

As for winter rapeseed, farms planted 1.06 million hectares, with the largest areas located in Vinnytsia, Odesa, and Khmelnytskyi regions.

In total, agricultural producers in 14 regions of Ukraine have fully completed the sowing campaign.
