Growers plant nearly 6.2 million hectares of winter crops

As of November 11, growers in Ukraine have sown 6.19 million hectares of winter crops — 94.5% of the projected area, according to data from the Ministry of Economy.

The planted areas include:

  • Winter wheat — 4.51 million hectares
  • Winter barley — 544.2 thousand hectares
  • Winter rye — 66.1 thousand hectares

Among the leading regions by area under grain crops are Odesa, Dnipro, and Mykolaiv oblasts.

Sowing of grain crops has already been completed in Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava, Rivne, and Chernihiv regions.

Farms have also sown 1.08 million hectares of winter rapeseed, with the largest areas in Odesa, Vinnytsia, and Mykolaiv regions. In total, 14 regions have completed rapeseed sowing.
