Russian attack sets fire to dozens of containers with flour and oil at Pivdennyi port

About 30 containers loaded with flour and vegetable oil caught fire at the port of Pivdennyi following another Russian attack on the ports of Odesa region. The strike occurred overnight on December 22, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba reported.

As a result of the attack, a fire broke out at the port, igniting approximately 30 containers with flour and vegetable oil. Port workers and all relevant emergency services are operating at the site, and efforts to eliminate the consequences are ongoing, Kuleba said.

“The enemy does not stop striking Odesa region. Russia is trying to destroy maritime logistics by carrying out systematic attacks on port and energy infrastructure. Last night, ports and energy facilities once again came under fire,” the minister added.

The State Emergency Service in Odesa region also reported damage to warehouse buildings storing fertilizers and agricultural machinery as a result of the attacks.
