Astarta postpones launch of oilseed processing plant in Khmelnytskyi region, while Globyno facility is planned for H2
Astarta has postponed the launch of its oilseed processing plant in Khmelnytskyi region.
Previously, the company stated it planned to commission the plant in 2026. However, according to the company's 2025 report, the launch has been delayed to a later period due to wartime risks and supply chain issues. In 2025, the company moved into active design, worked with contractors, and prepared for equipment procurement.
At the same time, Astarta intends to launch a soy protein concentrate (SPC) production line at its Globyno processing plant in Poltava region in the second half of 2026. The main equipment has already been installed, and the company is currently fine-tuning and integrating technological processes into a unified system.
What is known about Astarta’s new processing capacities
The project to build a soy protein concentrate (SPC) production line was initially announced in 2021 but was later put on hold. In November 2023, the company announced it would resume construction. The facility will enable production of up to 100,000 tons of concentrated soy protein per year and will be the first project of its kind in Ukraine.
At the end of 2023, Astarta signed a loan agreement with Oschadbank to finance the construction of the plant. Later, Astarta became the first company to sign an investment agreement with the government under the state support program for large-scale investments (“investment nanny” program). The total project cost is estimated at up to $80 million.
In March 2025, Astarta launched a new investment project — the construction of an oilseed processing plant, particularly for soybeans and rapeseed, in the Khmelnytskyi region. The planned capacity of the future facility is 400,000 tons per year, with a total investment amounting to $76 million.
