Grain Alliance to switch all elevators to alternative fuel before new season start
Grain Alliance (Baryshivka Grain Company) plans to fully transition all of its grain elevators to alternative fuel starting from the new season, the company’s Vice President and Commercial Director, Tahir Musayev, announced at the Grain Ukraine 2026 conference in Kyiv, according to Elevatorist.com.
According to Musayev, most of the company’s elevator facilities are already operating on alternative fuel, and this share is expected to reach 100% in the 2026/27 season.
“We expect to operate entirely on alternative fuel next season. Previously, the share exceeded 80%, depending on the situation, and now we are bringing this figure to 100%,” Musayev said.
To achieve this goal, the company is installing additional heat generators at facilities that previously lacked the necessary technical capabilities. Natural gas will remain a backup energy source.
Musayev also reported that approximately 300,000 tons of grain passed through the company’s elevators during the 2025/26 marketing year. Despite challenging weather conditions and high corn moisture levels during harvest, the company completed grain intake and drying operations on schedule.
Grain Alliance also continues to develop its grain terminal in Slovakia. Last year, the company completed a storage and transshipment capacity expansion project, increasing the facility’s capacity to approximately 40,000 tons.
