Kernel sells 5.5 million liters of branded sunflower oil in the Netherlands

The Bestolie&Kernel sunflower oil brand, developed by Kernel in the Netherlands together with distributor Fangoo&Zon Impex, has sold 5.5 million liters of product since its launch in 2024.

During this period, Kernel not only increased sales but also expanded its product portfolio. The company introduced new packaging formats and frying oil products tailored to the HoReCa segment.

The Bestolie&Kernel trademark is a continuation of the cooperation between the two companies. Previously, Kernel supplied sunflower oil to Fangoo&Zon Impex under a private-label arrangement, marketing the products under the Dutch distributor’s brand.

Under the new partnership model, Kernel is responsible for production and quality control throughout the entire process—from seed to finished oil—while Fangoo&Zon Impex handles distribution in the local market.

“The European market is highly competitive and largely closed to new brands. It is dominated by major international FMCG companies and supermarket private labels. Getting onto store shelves is difficult, and staying there is even harder. That is why it is important for us that Bestolie&Kernel has already been present on the market for a year and a half and has earned consumers’ trust,” said Serhii Neroshchyn, Director of Marketing and Sales for Branded Products at Kernel.

The company added that the quality of its products is confirmed by ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certifications.
