KSG Agro begins harvest, expects yields to exceed forecast
KSG Agro has launched its 2026 harvesting campaign, beginning with winter barley, winter wheat and spring barley across a total area of 4,900 hectares.
The harvest covers the following crops:
- Winter barley — 562 ha
- Winter wheat — 3,700 ha
- Spring barley — 698 ha
The company has deployed nine CLAAS LEXION combine harvesters and 25 trucks to transport the grain from the fields.
"This year's weather conditions have resulted in virtually the entire grain crop reaching maturity and becoming ready for harvest at the same time. Wheat grain moisture currently stands at 13–16%, which is optimal for starting the harvest. While we had initially planned a phased harvesting campaign, the current weather has led to an intensive and compressed operation that is expected to last about 10–12 days," said Vitalii Nekhai, Head of KSG Agro's Crop Production Division.
According to Nekhai, the agricultural holding expects yields to come in slightly above earlier forecasts. As a result, the company is placing particular emphasis on minimising harvest losses to prevent over-drying of the grain and maximise overall production.
