Ukraine's rapeseed yields nearly 20% higher at start of harvest than a year earlier

Ukraine's average rapeseed yield has reached 1.94 tons per hectare at the start of the 2026 harvest, almost 20% higher than the 1.62 t/ha recorded at the same stage last year, according to data from the Ministry of Economy.

As of July 13, 2026, growers had harvested rapeseed from 77,000 hectares, collecting 149,100 tons of seed.

By comparison, as of July 10, 2025, Ukrainian farmers had harvested 178,900 hectares and produced 290,100 tons of rapeseed. This indicates that this year's harvesting campaign is progressing more slowly than last year's, although yields remain higher.

The largest rapeseed crop has so far been harvested in Odesa region, where producers collected 51,500 tons from 24,400 hectares. Mykolaiv region harvested 42,000 tons from 22,000 hectares, while the Dnipropetrovsk region produced 31,100 tons from 15,600 hectares.

The highest average yield among regions where harvesting has already begun was recorded in Zakarpattia region at 3.0 t/ha. Yields reached 2.77 t/ha in Ivano-Frankivsk region, 2.2 t/ha in Kyiv region, and 2.11 t/ha in Odesa region.

Rapeseed harvesting is also underway in Kirovohrad, Poltava, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions.
