Kernel’s sunflower seed procurement prices plunge by nearly UAH 8,000/t in four days

Kernel’s sunflower seed buying prices have fallen sharply over the past few days. On Aug. 7, its processing plants were buying sunflower seeds at UAH 26,500–27,000 per ton, while as of Aug. 11 prices had fallen to UAH 19,300–19,700/t, according to purchasing price monitoring data.
The biggest price cuts were recorded at the following facilities:
- Black Sea Industries Ukraina (Odesa region) — down from UAH 27,000/t to UAH 19,700/t, a decline of UAH 7,300/t;
- Kropyvnytskyi Oil Extraction Plant — down from UAH 26,500/t to UAH 19,300/t, a decline of UAH 7,200/t;
- Poltavsky VOEP — down from UAH 27,000/t to UAH 19,300/t, a decline of UAH 7,700/t.
The Starokostiantynivskyi OEZ has also appeared in the price monitoring data, offering UAH 19,300/t for sunflower seeds delivered by both truck and rail.
Overall, sunflower seed buying prices fell by about 27%–29% over the four-day period, depending on the facility.
