Agroprodservice launches new dairy complex in Ternopil region

Ukrainian vertically integrated agricultural holding Agroprodservice is expanding its dairy herd and launching a new dairy complex in Ternopil region designed to accommodate 2,400 milking cows, milking equipment manufacturer GEA said.

Agroprodservice currently keeps more than 18,400 head of cattle, including a main herd of more than 8,400 forage cows.

Installation of a GEA DairyRotor T8900 rotary milking parlor with 60 milking places is nearing completion at the new complex, which was designed for loose housing of cows. The system features instant in-line milk cooling and GEA's latest DairyNet herd management software.

The new modern barns are also equipped with automated systems for climate control, manure removal and cow watering. These solutions will minimise the impact of human factors, increase the speed of production processes and ensure high-quality milk production, GEA said.

Powerful rotary milking systems such as the GEA DairyRotor T8900 are designed for industrial dairy farms operating continuous 24/7 milking cycles with high equipment utilisation.
