In Ukraine agrarians harvested 20 million tons of grain

As of July 25, 2017, according to data from the regions, 19.9 million tons of early grains and legume crops were harvested from 5.7 million hectares of land, which is 59% of the total 9.7 million hectares. The average yield amounted to 3.5 t/ha.

This information was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

It is noted that the agrarians have collected:

  • wheat — 13.5 million tons of grain was harvested on 3.6 million hectares of land (which constitutes 57% of 6.4 million hectares) with an average yield of 3.74 tons/ha;
  • barley — 5.5 million tons of grain was harvested on 1.7 million hectares of land (which constitutes 67% of 2.5 million hectares) with an average yield of 3.21 tons/ha;
  • rapeseed — 1.5 million tons of grain was harvested on 579 thousand hectares of land (which constitutes 74% of 785 thousand hectares) with an average yield of 2.61 tons/ha;
  • rye — 33 thousand tons of grain was harvested on 13 thousand hectares of land (which constitutes 8% of 169 thousand hectares) with an average yield of 2.47 tons/ha;
  • oats — 14 thousand tons of grain was harvested on 6 thousand hectares of land (which constitutes 3% of 194 thousand hectares) with an average yield of 2.29 tons/ha;
  • pea — 858 thousand tons of grain was harvested on 342 thousand hectares of land (which constitutes 84% of 405 thousand hectares) with an average yield of 2.51 tons/ha.

The highest yields of early grain and legume crops were recorded on the enterprises in Lviv (5.41 tons/ha), Khmelnitskiy (5.39 tons/ha), Ivano-Frankivsk (5.30 tons/ha), Chernovtsy (4.83 tons/ha), and Ternopol (4.77 tons/ha) regions.

Let us remind that the production of grain and legume crops in 2017 will decrease by 10.7% to 59.04 million tons compared to the previous year.
