26k pigs are exterminated in Ukraine from the beginning of 2017 because of ASF

In Ukraine from the beginning of Y2017, 26.52 thousand pigs are exterminated because of ASF outbreaks in different regions. 

This is reported by UkrAgroConsult. 

It is reported that 3.14 thousand pigs were disposed of in private households during the indicated period, namely: Poltava (568), Vinnitsa (393) and Cherkassy (353) regions.

In specialized farms, since the beginning of Y2017, 23.38k pigs were exterminated, namely: Khmelnytskyi (6.79k), Poltava (5.7k) and Zakarpattia (4.53k) regions.

It is noted that in Y2017, Ukraine recorded 109 outbreaks of ASF. In Poltava region, the highest number of ASF outbreaks is recorded — 19.

Let us remind, that as of August 1, 2017, the number of pigs in agricultural enterprises in Ukraine is about 3.49 million heads.
