Belarus bans import of pork from Zhytomyr region

Belarus temporarily restricted the import of pork from the Zhytomyr region because of the outbreaks of the African swine fever (ASF).

This is reported by the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus.

"With regard to the ASF, it is necessary to take additional measures to prevent the import of live pigs, pork and processed products, tannic, horn-fed and intestinal raw materials, bristles, wild boar meat, hunting trophies from susceptible species etc., to the territory of the Republic of Belarus from the Zhytomyr region," the report says.

Reference: on October 12, Belarus temporarily limited the import of pork from the Lviv region due to the cases of African swine fever (ASF).
