75k tons of sugar produced in Khmelnitsky region

As of October 11, agrarians of the Khmelnitsky region produced 75 thousand tons of sugar.

This is reported by the press service of the Khmelnitsky Regional State Administration.

It is noted that sugar beet was harvested from the area of 18,000 hectares, which is 47% of the forecast.

Gross harvest of sugar beet amounts to 573 thousand tons, with the average yield of almost 50 tons/ha.

In Ukraine as of October 11, agrarians processed 3.72 million tons of sugar beet and produced 502.1 thousand tons of sugar. 39 sugar plants began processing the sugar beet.

The association Ukrsugar forecasts 46 sugar plants to work in 2017/18 MY. Projected production of sugar remains at the same level — 2 million tons.
