306k tons of sugar beet are harvested in Volyn region

As of October 12, agrarians of the Volyn region harvested 306 thousand tons of sugar beet from 7.5 thousand hectares (53.2% of the sown area).

This is reported by the Department for Agro-Industrial Development of the Volyn Regional State Administration.

The average yield of sugar beet varies from 40 to 50 t/ha, however in some farms of the region yields reach 90 t/ha.

It is noted that agrarians produced 32,400 tons of sugar. Sugar plants received 250,000 tons of sugar beet for processing.

Preparation and processing of sugar beet is carried out by the Gnidavsky sugar plant and the Ivanichevsky sugar plant (Europe-sugar).

Reference: as of October 11, agrarians processed 3.72 million tons of sugar beet and produced 502.1 thousand tons of sugar. 39 sugar plants began processing of sugar beet.
