In 9M 2017 port Nika-Tera increased the cargo turnover by more than 44%

In Q3 2017 the marine specialized port Nika-Tera handled 3.35 million tons of cargo, which is 44% more than in the same period last year.

This is reported by the press service of the company.

In the total volume of cargo turnover, grain transshipment amounted to 63% (2,126 thousand tons), bulk cargo — 32% (1,070 thousand tons), mineral fertilizers — 5% (156.3 thousand tons). Transshipment of general cargo in January-September amounted to 0.5 thousand tons.

It is noted that the growth in volumes of cargo turnover was facilitated by the increase in the transshipment of grain crops and clay, as well as the expansion of the nomenclature of leguminous crops, in particular, pea transshipment.

"Due to the re-profiling of warehouses for storage of agricultural products that were previously used for the storage of fertilizers, we managed to significantly increase the volumes of grains and legumes transshipment. As a result, the port Nika-Tera became the leader among Ukrainian port operators for transshipment of peas with a share of 43%," commented the head of the port Nika-Tera Alim Agakishiev.

In September 2017, Nika-Tera handled about 389.5 thousand tons. Grain crops in September turnover accounted for 66.4% (259.6 thousand tons) of cargo,  bulk cargo — 30% (115, 9 thousand tons), mineral fertilizers — 3.6% (14 thousand tons).

Reference: on August 28, Nika-Tera began transshipment of a new cargo type — vegetable oils. The capacity of the transshipment complex is estimated at 500 thousand tons of bulk cargo per year.
