Global coarse grain production for 2017/18 to increase to 1.3 billion tons

Global coarse grain production for 2017/18 is forecast 3.2 million tons higher to 1,322.6 million.

The November report of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) shows that the production of coarse grain in comparison to MY 2016/17 (1.36 billion tons) will decrease by 43 million tons.

The volume of global coarse grains trade in 2017/18 MY is projected at 187.16 million tons, which is 1.41 million tons higher than the forecast for October, and 15.57 million tons less than the level of MY 2016/17 (202.73 million tons).

According to the USDA analysts, the volume of coarse grain imports in MY 2017/18 should amount to 181.57 million tons, which is 1.27 million tons more than the forecast for October, and 5.81 million tons higher compared to MY 2016/17 (175.76 million tons).
