Lithuanian Norteda to invest USD 10 million in Ukrainian agribusiness

Lithuanian oil trader Norteda registered the subsidiary UAB Agrarinė Norteda and announced its readiness to invest about USD 10 million in the Ukrainian agrarian sector, particularly in processing of grains and oilseeds.

100% of shares of the newly created Ukrainian Agrarinė Norteda belong to the parent company.

"Today Ukraine is one of the most attractive agrarian countries of Eastern Europe. We are considering storage and grain processing  investment projects. We are also ready to finance oilseeds processing," says Igor Shkliarus, director of UAB Agrarinė Norteda.

According to him, the projected volume of investments in the Ukrainian agricultural sector is more than USD 10 million. Agrarinė Norteda is ready to cooperate not only with private sector, but also with agrarian companies of the public sector.

The company plans to open the Ukrainian office of Agrarinė Norteda in Kiev.
