In 2017 sugar beet harvest totaled 14,5 MT

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the acreage under sugar beet last season amounted to 311 thousand hectares, and the average yield indicator reached 46.55 t/ha, writes SuperAgronom.com.

It is noted that the leader in areas under the crop was Vinnitsa region, where sugar beet last year was sown on 57.6 thousand hectares. In autumn, local farmers managed to harvest 2.79 million tons of sugar beet.

On the indicator of the crop yield, Ternopil (56.26 t/ha), Zhytomyr (54.13 t/ha) and Khmelnytsky (54.07 t/ha) regions became the top three leaders.

Earlier it was reported that the export of sugar in September-January 2017/18 amounted to 250.06 thousand tons, which is 1.64 times less than over the same period of 2016/17.
