Export of grains from sea ports decreased to 351k tons

In the period from February 24 to March 2, 351 thou. tons of grain crops were exported from the sea ports of Ukraine, which makes up 45% of the corresponding volumes a week earlier, reports APK-Inform.

It is noted that a significant decrease in wheat and corn shipment volumes was observed — 170 thou. tons (65%) and 162 thou. tons (51%), respectively. At the same time, shipments of barley increased almost 5-fold — from 4 thou. to 19 thou. tons.

"The leader in terms of export volumes in the reporting week was the port of Yuzhny (Odessa region), which shipped 135 thou. tons of grain. The port of Chernomorsk (Odessa region) shipped 66 thou. tons," the report says.

The largest volume of grain over the reporting week was imported by Spain (80 thou. tons). The Netherlands imported 66 thou. tons, and Egypt — 27 thou. tons.

Reference: Ukraine since the beginning of 2017/18, as of February 28, 2018, exported 26.94 million tons of grain, which is 2.29 million tons less than over the same period last year.
