Ukraine exported 30 MT of grain from the beginning of 2017/18

Since the beginning of 2017/18, Ukraine exported more than 30 million tons of grain crops (32.8 million tons over the same period a year earlier).

The Department of Phytosanitary control in seed and seedling of State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumers Protection (SSUFSCP) reports that among the exported crops are:

  • wheat — 13.8 million tons (2016/17: 14.4 million tons);
  • barley — almost 4 million tons (2016/17: 4.7 million tons);
  • corn — 11.6 million tons (2016/17: 13.3 million tons).

Reference: the forecast for global grain production in 2017/18 is reduced by 2 million tons to 2.092 billion tons (the previous forecast — 2.094 billion tons).
