EU approves BASF-Bayer deal

The European Commission on April 30 approved BASF acquisition of part of Bayer's Crop Science division, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The companies announced this deal on April 26 as part of meeting the conditions of the European regulators for the conclusion of the planned Bayer/Monsanto deal.

The EU competition enforcer said BASF will sell one of the overlapping lines of research for the development of non-selective herbicides and its nematicidal seed treatment product Trunemco, Reuters informs.

"BASF is acquiring some of Bayer’s seed and herbicide assets, its global vegetable seeds business, its digital farming business and certain seed treatments," the message says.
