Ukrainian seaports cut grain transshipment by 5.4% in Jan-May

The seaports of Ukraine in January-May 2018 transshipped 15.95 million tons of grain, which is 5.41% less than over the corresponding period last year. The Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration (USPA) reports that the following seaports are the leaders in grain transshipment:

  • Nikolaev — 4.85 million tons (+30.15% as compared to the same period last year);
  • Chernomorsk — 3.44 million tons (+5.18%);
  • Odessa — 3.38 million tons (–11.24%);
  • Yuzhnyi — 2.68 million tons (–29.04%);
  • Olvia — 0.81 million tons (–49.31%).

Reference: in May 2018, Ukrainian seaports exported 2.7 million tons of main grain crops, which is 87% of the relevant indicator in April 2018 (regarding the updated figures — 3.1 mln tons).
