Organic amaranth areas in Ukraine increased three times

In 2018, amaranth planting areas in Ukraine amounted to 800 hectares, which is 3.2 times more than last year, Agrotimes informs.

According to the Chairman of the Association of Amaranth and Amaranth Products Manufacturers Alexander Duda, the volume of sowing areas is still insufficient to provide processing enterprises with the necessary raw material.

He added that the largest areas under the amaranth in the history of Ukraine were in 2003 — c.35 thou. hectares.
