Shipment of organic grains from Ukraine increased 13% in 2017

In 2017, c.170 thou. tons of organic grain crops and peas were exported from Ukraine, which exceeded the results of 2016 (150 thou. tons) and 2015 (90 thou. tons), APK-Inform writes.

Organic wheat and corn dominate in supplies to foreign markets. Analysts also note that over three years the share of wheat in the total export of organic cereals has decreased from 61% in 2015 to 38% in 2017, whereas corn exports increased from 37% to 49%.

The key foreign market for these products in 2015-2017 were the EU countries with 93-95% of total exports, Switzerland, which is not a member of the EU, — about 5%.

Earlier it was reported that the holding, presented by the Galex Agro, Agrovest Group, Organic Milk and Organic Meat Product enterprises, held 20% of the organic flour market in Switzerland.
