Agribusiness share in the Ukrainian GDP may reach 25% — Groysman

The share of agricultural production in the Ukrainian GDP structure now stands at about 18% and may reach 25% provided the continuing state support of the industry. This was informed by the Head of the Government Volodymyr Groysman during the visit to one of the farms in Kyiv region.

"Agrarian sector plays a significant and pivotal role", stressed Volodymyr Groysman. "I am keen on increasing the number of such enterprises aimed to process raw materials, to create jobs in rural areas. It's all a guarantee of our success. Today, farming creates 18% of GDP. And we can improve performance by up to 25%, this is an attainable goal. Together with the opportunities for decentralization, this provides greater synergy."

The PM assured the Government will prolong the program of support for agricultural producers.

Previously it was reported that agrarians considered the subsidy for each head of livestock proposed by the Government non-transparent and ineffective.
