80% of grains and legumes harvested in Ukraine

As of August 3, 2018, harvesting of early grains and legumes is complete on 8 million hectares (81% of the forecast) with a productivity of 3.32 tons/ha. The new crop is collected in the amount of 26.5 million tons, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine informs.

The volumes of harvested crops are as follows:

  • winter wheat — 20.1 mln tons from 5.6 mln hectares (87%) with the productivity of 3.62 tons/ha;
  • spring wheat — 125 thou. tons, 2.85 tons/ha;
  • winter barley — 3 mln tons from 855.5 thou. hectares (98%), 3.5 tons/ha;
  • spring barley — 2.4 mln tons from 1.1 mln hectares (65%), 2.3 tons/ha;
  • peas — 669 thou. tons from 378 thou. hectares (87%), 1.77 tons/ha;
  • rye — 165 thou. tons from 62 thou. hectares (42%), 2.67 tons/ha;
  • oats — 60 thou. tons from 30 thou. hectares (15%), 2.03 tons/ha;
  • winter rapeseed — 2.5 mln tons from 953 thou. hectares (98%), 2.6 tons/ha;
  • spring rapeseed — 38 thou. tons from 18.4 thou. hectares (28%), 2.06 tons/ha.

Despite the fact that the harvesting campaign started two or three weeks earlier, agrarians failed to complete mass harvesting in July.
