Milling wheat prices hit 3-years high

Over the past three weeks, the Ukrainian export market (FOB basis) has experienced a rise in prices for the new crop wheat, Kurkul.com informs with reference to APK-Inform.

"The current situation is conditioned by the slow pace of grain harvesting by comparison with the traditional schedule in addition to the quality of produce. Besides, a growing interest of importers in the purchase of milling wheat stimulates price increase," the message says.

As of August 7, the supply of Ukrainian milling wheat with 12.5% protein content mostly comes at USD 222-228 per ton FOB for shipment in August-September.

Previously it was reported that in MY2018/19, Ukraine might export only 8 million tons of milling wheat of I-V classes.
