Vegetable oils transshipment in seaports dropped 281k tons in Jan-Jul 2018

The seaports of Ukraine in January-July 2018 provided for the transshipment of 3 193.89 thou. tons of vegetable oils, which is 281.45 thou. tons less than over the corresponding period last year.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) informs that the top 5 seaports in terms of transshipment volumes are:

  • Mykolaiv — 1 436.56 thou. tons (–4.7% y-o-y);
  • Chernomorsk — 897.08 thou. tons (–6.42%);
  • Yuzhny — 728.2 thou. tons (–7.35%);
  • Odessa — 93.12 thou. tons (+75.96%);
  • Izmail — 38.93 thou. tons (–17.05%).

Reference: the exports of sunflower oil amounted to 4.96 million tons in 2017/18 compared to 5.43 million tons a year ago. By July, the export output lowered by 8.5% compared to that of 2016/17.
