Grain stocks in Ukraine make up 19 mln tons

According to the data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine (SSSU), as of August 1, 2018, stocks of grains and legumes in Ukraine are estimated at 19 million tons, which is 12.8% lower y-o-y (21.9 mln tons as of August 1, 2017).

UkrAgroConsult reports that the estimated volumes by crops are as follows:

  • wheat — 11.3% lower or 13.1 mln tons vs 14.8 mln tons as of August 1, 2017;
  • barley — 19.8% higher or 1 mln tons vs 840 thou. tons as of August 1, 2017;
  • corn — 18% more and make up 2.52 mln tons as of August 1, 2018.

Reference: since the start of MY2018/19, as of September 5, Ukraine exported 5.75 million tons of grain, which is 881 thou. tons less y-o-y.
