Grains harvesting in Ukraine reached 36.8 mln tons

As of September 18, 2018, agrarians harvested 36.8 million tons of grain and leguminous crops from 10.4 million hectares (70% of the forecast) with a productivity of 3.52 tons/ha.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports the following yields:

  • early grain and leguminous crops — 34.3 million tons from 9.9 million hectares with a productivity of 3.48 tons/ha;
  • corn — 2.2 million tons from 402 thou. hectares (9%) with a productivity of 5.49 tons/ha;
  • buckwheat — 84 thou. tons from 66 thou. hectares (61%) with a productivity of 1.28 tons/ha;
  • millet — 56 thou. tons from 36 thou. hectares (68%) with a productivity of 1.57 tons/ha;
  • sunflower — 4.7 million tons from 2.2 million hectares (36%) with a productivity of 2.13 tons/ha;
  • soybean — 837 thou. tons from 346 thou. hectares (20%) with a productivity of 2.42 tons/ha;
  • rapeseed — 2.7 million tons from the area of 1 million hectares with a productivity of 2.61 tons/ha;
  • sugar beet — 947 thou. tons from 20 thou. hectares (7%) with a productivity of 46.7 tons/ha.

Previously it was reported that by September 17, sugar refineries in Ukraine had processed 547.1 thou. tons of sugar beet.
