Sunflower productivity in the central parts of Ukraine up 5-15%

Agrarians in the central regions of Ukraine informed about the increase in the yield of sunflower this year by 5-15%, APK-Inform reports.

According to agroproducers, the precipitation in August benefited the oilseed crops and contributed to the active vegetation of the plants, in particular, grain formation. Thus, the current sunflower productivity is within the range of 2-3.5 t/ha.

"The increased humidity under high temperature conditions has led to the need for additional fungicidal treatments on crops from diseases such as cottony, gray and brown rot," noted agricultural producers.

Previously it was reported that the bulk yield of oilseeds in 2018 was projected at the level of 21.7 million tons.
