September sugar supplies from Ukraine declined by half

Within the first month of the current marketing year, Ukrainian producers exported 11.1 thou. tons of sugar, which is half as much as in the previous month, the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine (Ukrsugar) reports.

“As it was expected earlier, Uzbekistan remains the key importer of Ukrainian sugar with 62% of all deliveries in September. Moldova accounts for 17% of shipments, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan — 8% each,” commented Ruslana Butylo, Head of the Analytical Department at the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine (Ukrsugar).

By October 16, 569.4 thou. tons of sugar have been produced by 37 sugar factories.

Reference: exports in the current marketing year should reach c.500-600 thou. tons of sugar, while the main importing countries will be Uzbekistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Note: Ukrainian sugar market in 2017 was dominated by 10 companies.
