Sugar exports in 2017/18: leaders of supplies

Radekhiv Sugar Refining Mill (Khorostkiv production) is named the leader of sugar exports in MY2017/18 having supplied 138.5 thou. tons of sugar for the amount of USD 55.55 million.

According to the data of the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine (Ukrsugar), the top five leaders of sugar exports in MY201718 are as follows:

  1. Radekhiv Sugar — 138.5 thou. tons (USD 55.55 million);
  2. Tsukoragroprom — 93 thou. tons (USD 40.65 million);
  3. the FC Podillya — 80.4 thou. tons (USD 27.66 million);
  4. Teofipol Sugar Plant — 35.5. thou. tons (USD 13.38 million);
  5. Novoorzhytsky Sugar Refinery — 34.9 thou. tons (USD 13.64 million).

In total in MY2017/18 Ukraine exported 564 thou. tons of sugar for the amount of USD 221 million, which is 27% less than the previous year.

“In addition to the fact that sugar exports fell by almost a quarter, we see significant changes in the exporters list. Having increased the production capacity, Radekhiv Sugar managed to head the list, displacing Vinnytsia Bread Factory No.2 which in recent years led the rating,” commented Ruslana Butylo, Head of the Analytical Department at the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine (Ukrsugar).

In MY2016/17, Vinnytsia Bread Factory No.2 dominated the Ukrainian sugar exports with 152.5 thou. tons worth of USD 74.7 million.

Note: Ukrainian sugar market in 2017 was dominated by 10 companies.
