The Ukrainian sunflower oil shipments in 2017/18 down 8.8%

In MY2017/18, the Ukrainian sunflower oil exports stood at 5.33 million tons. Despite the fact that the result is 8.8% lower than the record volume of the previous season, it is the second largest one, APK-Inform reports.

In particular, out of the indicated volume, unrefined sunflower oil amounted to 4.9 million tons (–9.4%), refined products — 0.43 million tons (–1.6%). At the same time, the ratio of raw and refined sunflower oil in total exports did not change as compared to the previous season, and their shares were 92% and 8%, respectively.

As for the export of sunflower meal and cake, the volume also did not reach the record, and by the end of MY2017/18 amounted to 4.2 million tons (–12%).

There were significant changes in the geography of sunflower oil and meal/cake exports from Ukraine in the past season. The same is expected in MY2018/19.

Previously it was reported that by October 15, 2018, cargo turnover by the Sea Specialized Port Nika-Tera had exceeded 4 million tons. In the first half of October, another tanker was loaded with sunflower oil in the volume of more than 31 thou. tons.
