In July-October 2018, the volume of flour production by large-scale enterprises of Ukraine amounted to 605 thou. tons, which is 15% lower than the relevant indicator of the previous season, APK-Inform reports.

The biggest decline was recorded in September, when production volumes were 19% lower than in September 2017.

Among the key flour-producing regions, the largest decline is typical for Cherkasy where flour production during the reporting period decreased by 51%. Also, production in Odesa region decreased by 48%, and in Kirovograd region — by 36%.

The current situation is a result of a 14% reduction in bread production in Ukraine, as well as a 58% decline in exports of these products. Against this background, analysts cut the forecast for the export of Ukrainian flour in MY2018/19 to 350 thou. tons, which is 18% lower than the previous season.
