New Eurovneshtorg marine terminal handled the first corn loaded ship

The new Eurovneshtorg terminal in the port of Olvia handled the first vessel. Its loading with 21 thou. tons of corn was completed on December 16, 2018. The Ukrainian agrarian products were sent to Lebanon.

“Attracting private investment and implementing a pilot concession project in the port of Olvia will make it possible to increase its transshipment capacity of agricultural products by 6 million tons in the next few years,” noted the Head of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, Raivis Veckagans.

At the end of 2019, the company Eurovneshtorg plans to reach 1 million tons of agricultural products transshipment. In the future, upon completion of the construction of the project, the expected increase is up to 4 million tons of cargo transshipment per year.

In the next three years, another grain terminal with a capacity of 2 million tons per hour should be built in the port of Olvia as part of the pilot concession project.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, seven leading Ukrainian and international companies have confirmed their intentions to participate in the concession tender to be held early next year. In total, more than 20 companies have shown interest in the further implementation of the project.

In the next 7 years, the cumulative economic effect for local budgets of Mykolaiv region and the city of Mykolaiv from the implementation of a pilot concession project, the construction of a new terminal by a private investor and the current activity of the USPA in the port of Olvia will be at least UAH 330 million.
