Marked increase in grain shipments fixed during Oct-Nov

In the first quarter of 2018/19, the Ukrainian grain exports showed a decline compared to the previous season. In October and November, there was a sharp increase in shipments against the background of the active supply of the new crop into the corn market, APK-Inform reports.

By the end of October, the total export of grain crops is estimated at around 4.4 million tons, which is a record volume for this month and 31% more than in October of the previous season. According to operational data, by the end of November, a monthly record of shipments was again set in grain exports, which stood at 5.3 million tons.

With regular adjustments to the forecast balance of grain supply and distribution in Ukraine in 2018/19, the export potential was improved to 45.1 million tons resulting from an increase in the assessment of the corn export potential to 25 million tons.
